The air strip is the regional Palmar Sur airport.

For speculators, the property is situated about 10 minutes from the proposed site for the new International airport. There is no telling when exactly this new airport is going to become a reality, but it seems it is just a matter of time. The eventuality of the new airport is already appealing to a number of international investors who are looking to the Palmar Sur area now as the next possible land boom.

The owner has a horse that he keeps on the property. She grazes on several of the acres. The rest of the property he maintains in nearly golf course condition. As mentioned, the property at one time belonged to the United Fruit company and they had an actual golf course on this property. There are still some elevated areas of the property indicating the locations of putting greens from its past life.

The land is rich and fertile. I remarked on the health of the grass, trees and bushes and the seller told me that he fertilizes some of the fruit trees, especially the avocados, but that the grass simply doesn't need it. The soil is dark and rich for cultivation.

You are just minutes away from the town of Sierpe, which is a great place to launch for tours of the Osa Peninsula. Also the fishing in the Terraba river as well as at the river mouth and out to sea is the best in the area.

The property is secure and the local community is largely professional with a bent toward looking out for each other. There is a rich history to the area and while I have been acquainting myself with the property, I have found it appropriate to also get to know the nearby town of Sierpe with its river & ocean activites, as well as the nearby Museum of Spheres - included among some of the ancient historical mysteries on the planet. There are also many ancient indigenous landmarks around the area. This property is well situated among all of this unique history and activities of the area.

Possible uses for this property: There is more than enough land here for a hotel. The abundant usable and fertile land also lends itself to self sufficient farming. The creation of numerous villas and/or cabinas is easily accommodated. Obviously a family compound would fit. A fishing lodge. A special interest community or retreat, such as a think-tank, or a health related group effort such as yoga, or another type of discipline would make good use of the sprawling contiguous acres of property.
