Samara is known for its calm waters that are created by the bay out in front of this lovely Guanacaste beach resort and is the perfect place to practice your surfing skills, swim or play along the beach while getting to know Isla Chora which is also just out in front of this town where Kayaking, Snorkeling, Diving and Sport Fishing are practiced. Samara hosts a series of restaurants to include an active nightlife, along with numerous arts and crafts shops and clothing stores, a National Bank, and local supermarkets. Samara has some small beach breaks good for beginners, and bigger outside reef breaks for the more experienced. The mouth of the bay has rocky points with good breaks. Reef way outside in the middle of the bay with good rights on south swells. There are other reefs at the north end of the bay, way outside with good rights. And more reef at the south end of the bay near Isla Chora are the best in the area.
