We also have very good healthcare here in San Ramon. There is a rather large Public Hospital downtown and the staff is wonderful. If you choose to go into the private system, almost all of the doctors who work in the Hospital also have private offices around San Ramon where you can make appointments within a few days and pay out of pocket - typically $50 to start. And because we have the hospital right here (many other mountain areas do not), we also have 24 hour Pharmacies and stores along the block outside the ER. Very convenient in a country where things tend to close after 7pm! For more extensive medical care, you can be at the famous CIMA Hospital in San Jose in about an hour, and just over an hour to the equally famous Clinica Biblica in downtown San Jose.
