The Community Action Alliance, Gringocentral.com, and many other groups on Facebook (look under San Ramon Costa Rica) will help you settle in. If you want to be involved with volunteering with the community, or just knowing how to grow tomatoes in a new environment, these are wonderful resources to help you feel at home. The CAA (Community Action Alliance) is possibly the most organized ex-pat group in all of Costa Rica. From Christmas Madrigals to Oktoberfest, working at our San Ramon Hogarcito (Orphanage) and helping CR’s first rural project for solar panels on our local Gorge Washington School - choose the projects the interest you most to help out or just have fun. If getting away from it all was the whole reason for coming down here, then don’t bother! We will find you your own mountaintop- There’s room for everyone!
